On the Brewing of Fire in the cold months - Fire Cider

When the fog starts rolling down the hills in the first days of fall, it's time to prepare a tonic for the cold days ahead.

Fire Cider - a newer name for an old time elixir. 
Oxymel, a basic vinegar and honey recipe, was mentioned several times by Hippocrates in his transcript 'On regimen in acute diseases' 400BC. 

In the early 1980s, the herbalist Rosemary Gladstar formulated and made popular what we now know as Fire Cider. It's a modern potion, a trustworthy help when battling a cold & to boost your immune system.

But the best thing about Fire Cider is - you can put in it what ever you like. This year's jar contains an extra of chokeberries, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks.
